Established in 1918, J.A.M. Taylor Tool Co. Limited, is a family owned Canadian manufacturer of High Speed Steel Metal Threading Taps, Dies and Reamers.

In March of 1918, J.A.M. Taylor left his position with Canadian Fairbanks Morse and founded the company in Toronto, as a manufacturers' agent for British and American companies. In 1941 with the second generation in the business, the company purchased a factory in Galt and began manufacturing taps for a growing Canadian industrial market, and the war. As the company continued to grow the third generation, the current owners joined the company, and in 1965 a new facility was built at our current location in Cambridge. In 1981, we expanded our manufacturing to

include round and hex threading dies. Our Toronto location closed in 1987, and the Head Office and warehouse was amalgamated with our new offices and warehouse addition in Cambridge. In the interim we have expanded our tap and die manufacturing sections, and are currently in the process of revamping our reamer manufacturing.

The company has thirty full time employees, where we produce and stock a full range of standard and special Right and Left Hand Taps, Round and Hexagon Rethreading Dies in American, Metric, Pipe, Locknut and Acme sizes. Taylor Tool also, import and stock a line of Full Form British Whitworth Taps and Dies as well as Standard and Special Reamers to compliment our manufactured products.

Our services include "Bar Stock" specials to blueprints and customer supplied specifications. Due to the size of our operation we are able to provide fast deliveries for specials, some from our stock. Over the years, our reputation for quality specials has expanded to include all of Canada and the U.S. with many of our products exported world-wide by our distributors. As we continue to grow, we now have the fourth generation with the company to carry on the family tradition.
